Don’t let anyone tell you it is easy to create a successfully engaging Facebook Fan Page. It is not.

It’s not an insurmountable task either. But it requires planning, time, some kind of HTML knowledge, design skill, and imagination. Originality doesn’t hurt either.

There are great tools and tips available that will help you create an outstanding page for your brand without an immense amount of time or capital invested. I’ve been working to improve our own Go2web20 fan page and I have some tips from my experience that I’m more than happy to share.

Let me start off by saying, Facebook itself is the only true obstacle in the whole page creation process. If they accepted all code formats, it would be much easier to create any page. It would open up the space to immeasurable possibilities and we would see a wider variety of amazing, unique pages. But unfortunately, this isn’t the case so you have to find ways to work with what you’ve got and then take it up from there.

Fan Page Profile Pictures

You might not know this but you can use a picture for your profile page as large as 200 x 600 pixels. The good thing about this is a larger picture offers better visibility of the campaign itself, which may include your company logo or a promotional banner of any kind. The downside to this eye-catching stunner is that it shifts the focus away from the rest of the page. This is why you need to plan your page first. Decide where you want the eyes of your visitors to go: on your image or on the rest of the page’s elements. You can play and preview your ideas, change them back and forth, and see what’s ultimately best for goals, your page, and its users.

Companies world-wide feel they are falling behind, because of their website designs and feel confusion at the fact that they are losing clients to newly founded websites, simply because they are better-looking. Why is this happening now and is that the only reason for their loss?

They all agreed that it is not only about the shape of the website, that like all late-modern art, had gone minimal, ranging from paintings to music and even to furniture and other interior designs. Most of the change is related to website content and the first page of a website. Everything has become much faster, people have become much busier, so they don’t want to read a lot of information about a company, they just want to see what they have to offer and buy or leave the website, that’s all. They might bookmark it and return later to see that company’s About page. “They don’t want all of that on the front page, maybe only a few words, having a “more details” button next to it” Theodora Vingan explained.

“Many clients contacted us, saying their websites just don’t do the trick anymore. We understood them perfectly and offered to redesign their websites.” Peter said. The only surprise that came to him was that they’d finally realized this need for a change, forced upon them by the changes worldwide.

And it’s not only about showing the offers, the best products, the portofolio, the shopping cart and others on the front page on a small space, so that the visitor doesn’t have to scroll all the way down. This is very important for fast navigation and user-friendliness, but there is just more to the whole new concept of company webdesign.

“We brought in some younger people, students who helped us better understand the concept behind Web 2.0 and all this crazy social media phenomenon” Calin stated.

They finally said that it was also about including these new social media in their clients’ websites. Many companies started using these new marketing methods and this ensures them they will not easily fall behind.

The thing with Twitter is the more followers you have the faster your words get spread over the vast population of 90 million tweople (twitter people).
